He said despite repeated demands, the government and the NHA refused to facilitate the stranded Chitralis by opening the tunnel for two days a week in the winter. The government agencies were of the view that opening the tunnel for two days in a week would affect the ongoing work to meet the deadline of the completion of the project by June. As a result, thousands of people including students and patients remain stuck in Chitral and outside Chitral waiting for the opening of the tunnel on Friday.
But it was shocking to see the tunnel opening for the few elite class people from major cities who arrived to enjoy a jeep rally in the Lowari.
