Tehsil Council member wants early filling of vacant posts

Talking to ChitralToday on Thursday, he said that at present only one assistant commissioner, Hameedullah Khattak, and one tehsildar are performing duties in the whole tehsil while a number of posts of additional ACs and tehsildars remain vacant for long.  Mr Hakim said that upper Chitral spreads over 8400 square kilometers area and due to the shortage of manpower the local administration was facing hardship in discharging its responsibilities. As a result, people coming to Booni, the headquarters of the tehsil, either have to wait to get their petty work done or most of the time have to go back after wasting their time and money. He was of the view that without filling the key posts the government’s claim of efficient service delivery can never be fulfilled. The elected member of the local government demanded that all the vacant posts in the local administration should be filled without any further delay in order to facilitate the people if the remote area.  ]]>

  1. It can be inferred that District/Tehsil Administration can easily be run without the assistance of Add.Assitant Commissioners as they were mere additional. However, these AAC’S and AC’s happen to be handy in the arrangment of tournaments like Jashne chitral,qaqlasht or shandur tournament other than that i don’t think them to be anything useful in terms of serving the people.So, there is no need to fill in the sinecure positions.
