Restoration work on Reshun powerhouse to start after Eid
PESHAWAR: After more than a year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to restore the flood-damaged Reshun hydropower station of 4.2 MW as well as complete the ongoing power projects at the earliest in Chitral. The decision to this effect was taken in a high level meeting of Technical Committee, PEDO held under the chairmanship of Secretary Energy and Power Engineer Naeem Khan which reviewed the progress of work at flood damaged Reshun power station. The meeting was attended by Technical Committee Engineer Chairman Latif Khan and other officers. The committee showed its concern over the slow pace of work at Reshun HPS and decided to start the restoration work of the project after eid vacations and said that no compromise would be made over delay tactics in the early restoration of Reshun HPS. During the meeting, the chair was informed that PEDO had installed solar panels to 1000 houses and 350 KVA heavy duty generators from its own resources, the same would benefit about hundreds of families. Chairman Latif informed the meeting that members of the committee would soon visit the project site in order to purchase machinery for the project. Secretary Energy and Power directed the concerned officers of PEDO to work day and night to restore the Reshun power station soon. He assured the Chitrali people that all efforts would be made for the early restoration of Reshun HPS.
