Chitral-bound trucks allowed to cross tunnel

DROSH, March 9: Hundreds of trucks laden with commodities have moved towards Chitral after permission cross the under-construction Lowari Tunnel. The trucks had been waiting for permission to cross the tunnel for the last a number of weeks which had created panic in Chitral. Assistant Commissioner Drosh Basharat Ahmed, who is also the focal person for the Lowari Tunnel, told ChitralToday that about 200 trucks would reach Chitral early on Tuesday. He added that arrangements had also been made for the return of the trucks. It may be noted that the JUI Drosh had staged a strong protest demonstration and also threatened to initiate a protest movement, including a shutter-down strike and wheel jam.]]>
