BLSO launched projects worth millions of rupees
BOONI, Dec 18: The Biyar Local Support Organization (BLSO) held its annual general meeting in Booni on Thursday. The objective of the meeting was to elect a new board of directors. Chairman BLSO Zafarullah Parvaz welcomed the participants while Sher Afzal, the manager of the BLSO, presented 2013 and 2014 performance report. According to the report, the BLSO received a total grant of Rs. 280.21 million from different donor agencies – Rs.21,300,000 from THRIVE/CIADP for 16 projects, Rs.3,600.000 from AKRSP/EELY for 33 projects, He said eight mega projects were completed including three sanitation, three irrigation channel, one protective wall, one water supply, 29 training and workshop conducted, eight festivals organized besides providing Rs.1890000 loan to 189 poor women. At present, he said, the BLSO has Rs.2760974 balance in banks and Rs.1188297 loan recoverable and Rs. 283961 fixed assets.
