Probe into mysterious death of Chitrali woman sought

CHITRAL, Dec 14: Human rights activists and social circles in Chitral have demanded an inquiry into the mysterious death of a woman from Broz village of Chitral who was married in Mardan. Shamim Bibi was married to a man in Mistri Khan village of Mardan five years ago. Strangely, her husband never brought back the woman to see her parents in Chittrtal. Reports said relations between the woman and her husband were strained for many years. A few days ago, Painda Khan, the husband of the woman, called his in-laws in Broz and told them that she had died during childbirth. He asked his in-laws to come to Mardan and take away the body. The parents and other relatives of the deceased woman have sent complaints to the DPo Mardan and the IGP KPK to order an inquiry and ascertain the actual cause of the woman’s death. It may be noted that less than two weeks ago, another Chitrali woman married to a man in Lahore was reported killed by her in-laws.]]>
