Independence Day celebrated at GDC

CHITRAL, Aug 14: The Independence Day was celebrated at the Government Degree College Chitral with pomp and show. The day began with hoisting of the national flag on the premises of the college. gdcA smart contingent of the college students saluted the national flag. The national anthem was sung by the teachers and students. Next a function was held in the college hall. Senior professor Muhammad Saifuddin presided over the ceremony. College teachers and students spoke on the occasion, and highlighted the importance of the day. National songs were also presented. GH Farooqi reports: An Independence Day function was also held at Alzahra Pole Star High School, Breshgram, Karimabad valley. Educationist Sher Nawaz Khan was chief guest while the ceremony was presided over by Aziz Khan Subadar of Chitral Scouts. The chief guest also hoisted national flag. Students on the occasion presented national songs while speakers highlighted the significance of the day.  ]]>
