Shop gutted in fire

CHITRAL, June 5: A fire gutted a shop at the main Balach road near PSO petrol pumpon Friday morning. District Police Officer (DPO) Ghulam Hussain said goods worth Rs. 0.5 million were destroyed in the fire. The general store belonged to Ameer Baig, son of Dinar Baig, a resident of Balach. Eyewitness Suhbanuddin said he called the fire brigade staff three times and also informed the local police station but they reached the spot after all the goods had been gutted. The area people complained that there are more than 110 employees in the TMA with over 10 drivers but nobody was present in the office at the time of the fire. Most of the TMA staff members do not come to work and run their own private businesses, they alleged.  ]]>
