Injured markhor awaits release
CHITRAL, Dec 17: The Kashmiri markhor, which was hit and injured by a falling stone in the Toshi game reserve a few weeks back, is still with the wildlife department of Chitral. The five-year-old animal was injured in the legs. The animal is recovering at the compound of the wildlife divisional office. An official said the markhor was healthy and of trophy size and its death could have caused heavy loss to both the local community and the government as the hunting permit had already been sold at 92,000 dollars this year.–Photo GH Farooqui]]>
