NDMA issues detail of relief items sent to Chitral flood victims

ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP): Over 15,200 blankets, 12,500 food packs, flour bags and 5,700 tents have been distributed among the flood victims in Chitral by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and others. An official of NDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said they also provided Rs18.873 million for quick rehabilitation of the flood victims of Chitral district. National Disaster Management Authority has distributed 3000 tents, two boats to flood victims. Likewise the provincial disaster management authority provided 200 tents, 200 blankets, PDMA Punjab provided 2500 tents, 15,000 blankets, 12,500 food packs and 12,500 flour bags among the flood victims. The Aug 2013 flash floods devastated Chitral villages causing seven deaths, scores of injuries with 336 persons affected. As many as 142 houses were damaged partially and 77 destroyed completely. The Red Crescent has distributed 496 blankets,124 mosquito nets, 26 tents, 52 polythene sheets, 62 each kitchen sets, hygiene kits, Stoves and Jerry cans respectively, he concluded.]]>
