Enrollment drive launched in Chitral
CHITRAL, Sept 9: A literacy-cum-enrollment campaign in government schools was launched here on Monday. The drive will end on September 14.
In this regard, an education walk was taken out from Government Centennial Model High School to Ataleeq Square which was led by District Education Officer Haji Nisar Ahmad Khan, Additional Assistant Commissioner Mazhar Ali Shah, deputy district education officer Ihsanul Haq, president of all primary teachers association (APTA) Mohammad Ashraf.
The walk was held under auspices of APTA Chitral participated by teachers, representatives of civil societies and students of different schools. NCHD Chitral general manger Mohammad Afzal was also present. Addressing the gathering at Ataleeq Chowk, the DEO highlighted the importance of education and stressed that the parents must send their children to public sector schools where the government spent millions of rupees for this purpose.
He hailed the education friendly policy of the provincial government. The walk returned to the government primary school Chital where the officials enrolled a large number of children. APTA Chitral provided new bags, notebooks, pencils and lunchboxes to the newly-enrolled children to encourage and motivate them to come to school regularly.
Talking to this scribe, the DEO said the KPK government had especially directed them for introducing a uniform education policy in the province by implementing same syllabus in schools which was taught in the private schools. He said the government had fulfilled all demands of primary teachers by giving them upgradation with handsome salaries and now they were bound to teach their students honestly and with full dedication.
DROSH
Jahanzeb Khan reports: An education walk was also held in Drosh on Monday. The walk started form the Govt High School and ended at the local bazaar where a brief functionw as also held. The walk was led by teachers of the school. Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Saleem Kamil and Qari Jamal Abdul Nasir highlighted the importance of education. They asked the people to provide education to their children. the walk was held to create awareness among the people about the importance of education.
