GOTCHA! Fake SSP arrested in Chitral

CHITRAL, July 3: A man from Malakand Agency was arrested in Drosh on the charge of posing himself as the senior superintendent of police. The police said fake degrees and stamps of different universities were also recovered from the accused. SDPO Drosh circle Mohammad Khalid said Ejaz Rahim, son of Rahimdad of Kupar village of Malakand Agency, entered the police station of Drosh and introduced himself as the SSP (crime branch). He said when the officials in the police station inquired about his identity, they came to know that he was an impersonator. As a result, he was arrested and cases registered against him under relevant sections of PPC. Mr. Khalid said that on inquiry it was further revealed that the accused had repeated the practice last year in Chitral. H had come here pretending to be a police officer and decamped with about Rs300,000 from different people. He said that the impersonator had also issued fake appointment letters to different people in Chitral regarding their appointment as police sub-inspector and took a huge sum of money from them.–Zahiruddin]]>
