Fake letter lands paramedical body chief in jail
CHITRAL, June 25: The Chitral police have arrested the president of Chitral chapter of Pakistan Paramedical Association, Khurshid Ahmed, on the charges of forgery and fraudulence. SHO Chitral Zaffar Ahmed said the accused had allegedly written a letter to the election commission on the occasion of general elections on behalf of Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali complaining against two top officers of the district health department. The two officers, Dr. Nazir Ahmed (district health officer) and Dr. Noorul Islam (medical superintendent of DHQ hospital), had been accused of influencing the election process in favour of certain candidates, he said. He said Maulana Abdul Akbar, however, categorically disowned the letter and also stated that the accused had approached him to write the letter against the two officers with whom he had a personal grudge. He said the officers approached the court of additional district and sessions judge against the accused with the plea to file a case of forgery which was accepted.–Zahiruudin]]>
