CHITRAL, April 18: As many as 102 personnel of the district border police Chitral have been sent on forced retirement. They included one subedar major, four subedars, 15 naib subedars and sepoys. Sources told this correspondent here on Thursday that as per instructions from the ministry of states and frontier regions, the deputy commissioner of Chitral, being the ex-officio commandant of the force, sent packing the officials who had attained the age of forty two years or had rendered continuous service of twenty five years. The affected personnel have approached the Peshawar High Court to get stay order against their forced retirement. The force has been raised to keep vigilance over the movement in Pak-Afghan borders and its importance has increased with the frequent infiltrations of terrorists from the Afghan area into Chitral through the borders.–Zahiruddin]]>
