CHEPS holds youth court in Booni
BOONI, March 19: The Chitral Heritage and Environment Protection Society (CHEPS) held an environment youth court session on in Booni which was facilitated by AKRSP and CCDN and funded by CIDA. [caption id="attachment_8752" align="alignleft" width="300"] Youth court members.[/caption] This gathering was presided over by Dr. Sardar Nawaz accompanied with Mr. Sardar Hakim, the Principal of Pearl Degree College Booni. Chairman CHEPS Rehmat Jaffar Dost while addressing the students from GGDC Booni and other schools and colleges said “a gesture of appreciation and a nudge changes the fortune of a person like me and helps his mission to accomplish. For pursuing a mission you need to have a commitment, decision making power and hard work.” He said he had represented Chitral and was invited two times to LUMS and NCA for delivering lectures. He emphasized the need for ‘changing educational priorities in learning community’. While speaking on the occasion, Principal Sardar Hakim said the gathering like these had been more educative and beneficial for students with formal education. “The mission CHEPS has, makes all of us to rethink repeatedly about it and the need to change general mentality in public of making excuses on different problems and disasters that we are facing” he said. IT has revolutionized Chitral but we need to use electronic gadgets purposefully and dexterously. Dr. Sardar Nawaz thanked and credited CHEPS chairman for being a model and exemplary volunteer. “Earning millions and having luxurious life style is not a success but it is contentment with his life and work” he said. “ With rapidly change and changing conditions have created disappointment and problems of adjustment in society leading to different social problems like suicide , has been a challenge of today to develop harmony in family and society” while speaking about Chitral he also said. Dr. Sardar Nawaz elaborately spoke on environment, pollution, its effect on human health and life and shared remedial measures for mitigating environmental challenges and pollution. Ms. Sadiqa representative of AKRSP also spoke on the occasion put a light on the project’ Enhancing Employability and Leadership for Youth’ youth and youth organizations ;working for creating awareness, empowerment and youth employability including mitigating environmental challenges by supporting different organizations working in this sector. Environment Youth Court while discussing major issues of deforestation, non-availability of public toilets, live stocks, civic sense and pollution also put into debate the causes, effects and finally youth Court suggested countering measures for environmental challenges with actively participating CHEPS 7th Signature plus plantation campaign of ‘clean and green’ Chitral and unanimously passed a resolution forwarding to government for taking countering these challenges. CHEPS is a pioneer organization founded on June 05, 2005 with a mission of extenuating environmental challenges and keeping Chitral “Clean and Green” endeavours with a name of CHEPS since 2007-visited 793 Govt Schools, 519 private schools and has been in-touch with 54 AKES Schools in Chitral with his active environmental campaign on the occasion of Jashn-e-Qaqlasht and Shandur Festivals held in the month of March and July respectively for the last eight years in Chitral.–Alhaj Muhammad Khan Alhaj Muhammad Khan]]>
