Blueprint for GB province was ready: Musharraf

DUBAI, Oct 20: Former President Pervez Musharraf has said he had prepared a blueprint to make Gilgit-Baltistan the fifth province of Pakistan. [caption id="attachment_5029" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Pervez Musharraf"][/caption] Talking to Manzoor Hussain Ultar, the chief organizer of Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APLM) in Dubai, Musharraf said had he been in power by now the region would have been the fifth province. He said after his departure, the current incompetent and corrupt rulers made many changes to his plan and introduced a confused and irrelevant system in the region. Musharraf said during his tenure, the development of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral remained his top priority. He said he had launched a number of development projects in the region but after he resigned from the presidency all these projects were abandoned by the current rulers. Hr also expressed displeasure over the government’s decision to cancel the reconstruction of the Jaglot-Skardu road. However, he added that after coming to power again his part would not only complete all the projects initiated by him earlier but would also launch new schemes. On the occasion, he appreciated the hard work of Mr Manzoor for organizing the APML in the region. Musharraf also expressed displeasure over rampant corruption in the region and said the rulers have failed to give the masses any relief and were filling their own pockets. He said in the next elections, the PPP and its allies would be rejected by the masses.]]>
