Position holders in SSC exams awarded

CHITRAL, Sept 26: Students who passed the annual Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination 2012 with distinction were given awards at a ceremony held at the Govt Centennial Model High School for Boys here on Wednesday.  The Iqra awards are arranged annualy by Qari Faizullah to enourage the studenst to achive distinction in the exams. These awards have been given to the students for the last many years. The ceremon was presided over by Molvi Abdul Rehman, the chief of JUI district Chitral while DCO Rehmatullah Wazir was the chief gues. The first award of Rs40,000 was given to Tausif Ahamd, son of Qazi Sharif Ahmad, of Broze Public School who secured 895; the second award of Rs30,000 was grabbed by Nighat Tariq, daughter of Tariq Mahmood of Muslim Model School, Chitral, who secured 882 marks while the third award was given Ihtishamul Haq, son of Asmat Wali of Orien School, Booni, who obtained 860 marks. He was also given 20,000 rupees cash. In the government side, the first award went to Ayesha Sultana, daughter of Sultan Shah, a student of Government Girls High School, Moldeh, who obtained 827 marks in the SSC examination. She also received Rs40,000 cash prize, The second award was given to Hina Ghani, daughter of Ghaniur Rehman of Government Girls High School Moldeh, with a cash prize of Rs30,000 for obatining 818 marks while the third award was givren to Saima Qayum, daughter of Qayum Khan of the same school who obtained 811 marks with cash prize of rupees 20,000. A special award was given to Dr. Akbar Shah, a surgeon at Khayat Teaching Hospital Peshawar for rendering meritorious services to Chitrali patients at KTH Peshawar. An other special award was given to Ataullah, a student of Frontier Corps Public School Drosh who stood first in Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Another special award was ven to Mrs Saliha, the headmistress of Government Girls High School Moldeh as her institution grabbed three positions.—GH Farooqui  ]]>
