Chitral, June 29, 2026: More than 50 long-pending development schemes under the DDP-I programme have been completed in Lower Chitral after years of delay, while work on the remaining projects is progressing rapidly.

According to officials, the schemes had remained pending for the past four to five years. Significant progress has now been achieved through effective monitoring by the district administration and coordinated efforts of the relevant departments.

Authorities said the progress was made possible due to continuous field monitoring by Deputy Commissioner Rao Hashim Azim and the dedicated efforts of the team led by TMO/Administrator Haider Ayub Khan.

Completed projects include more than 70 development schemes related to mosques, Jamat Khanas, waiting areas, cemetery improvements, prayer grounds, and other public welfare facilities that will directly benefit local residents.

The district administration said work on the remaining schemes is continuing at full pace and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring their timely and quality completion so that people can benefit from improved public services and infrastructure.
