Chitral, June 18, 2026: The Water and Sanitation Services Unit (WSU) of Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Chitral has launched a special enforcement drive against illegal water connections and defaulters in different areas of the town.
According to officials, a technical team carried out operations in Balach Payeen, Balach Bala and Bakarabad to identify consumers who had failed to pay their dues as well as those using unauthorized water connections. Necessary action was taken against violators during the campaign.
The officials said the initiative aims to ensure fair and efficient distribution of clean drinking water, prevent wastage of resources and provide equal services to all consumers.
They noted that illegal connections and non-payment of dues adversely affect the water supply system, making enforcement action necessary under the law.
Tehsil Municipal Officer Haider Ayub Khan said providing better civic facilities to the public remains the top priority of the administration. He warned that no one would be allowed to damage the water supply system or misuse resources through illegal means, adding that such operations would continue in future.
Residents have been urged to clear their outstanding dues on time and avoid illegal connections to help improve the sustainability of the water supply system.
