Islamabad, May 2, 2026: The Islamabad High Court has rejected a request to transfer the trial of the Sana Yousaf murder case to another court, allowing proceedings to continue in the existing trial court.
Verdict Reserved on Case Transfer Plea of Sana’s Killer
Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar issued a detailed written judgment dismissing the petition filed by the accused, Umar Hayat. The court ruled that allegations of bias and misconduct against the trial judge were unfounded.
According to the judgment, the case will continue in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge West. The court also noted that repeated adjournment requests hinder the course of justice.

The High Court further observed that the language used by the accused against the trial court was inappropriate and undermined the dignity of the judiciary.

Umar Hayat had requested that the trial be transferred to another court, alleging bias on the part of the Additional Sessions Judge. However, the court found no merit in these claims and dismissed the application.
