Chitral, April 27, 2026: Police in Lower Chitral said they have intensified targeted operations against drug trafficking, arresting a suspect and recovering a significant quantity of charas during a house search, officials said.
New drug making inroad into Chitral
According to police, a team led by SDPO Lotkoh Ahmad Isa and SHO Shoghor SI Fida Muhammad, along with other personnel, including female constables, conducted a search operation at a residence.
During the search, 610 grams of charas was recovered from beneath a mattress in the suspect’s room. The suspect, identified as Imtiaz Ahmad, a resident of Lorigram Karimabad, was taken into custody.
Police have registered a case against the suspect at Shoghor police station and launched further investigation.
