Welfare Orgs Key to Chitral’s Issues, Say Speakers

PESHAWAR, Dec 25, 2025: A service to humanity conference was organized at the Peshawar Press Club under the auspices of the Chitral Information and Helping Forum.
Major General (retd) Sajjad Ali Khan was the chief guest, while Federal Minister for Health Dr Mustafa Kamal addressed the gathering via video link.

Speakers said Chitral remains a relatively underdeveloped region facing unemployment and other socio-economic challenges, and stressed that welfare organisations can play a vital role in addressing these issues.
Former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, former MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, reserved seat MPA Arifia Bibi, PTI leader Rehmat Ghazi, Sartaj Ahmed Khan, senior bureaucrat Abdul Karim, Dr Abdul Karim and senior journalist Zulfiqar Ali Shah spoke on the occasion.
The speakers said serving humanity was a moral and social responsibility and emphasised the need for organized welfare efforts in view of rising poverty levels.

They noted that the Chitral Information and Helping Forum has been providing assistance to deserving individuals through modern platforms, including a WhatsApp group, and played an active role during the Covid-19 pandemic. The forum has also contributed to initiatives in the education and health sectors.

A declaration was issued at the conclusion of the conference, reaffirming the commitment to further strengthen the forum and continue its welfare activities.
