PTI Launches ‘Release Imran Khan’ Campaign in Chitral

CHITRAL, Nov 18, 2025: PTI central leader Ahmed Khan Niazi has said the attainment of “true freedom” demands struggle, sacrifice and courage, urging people to come out and break the chains of fear. He likened the present political movement to the struggle for the creation of Pakistan, asserting that the nation is once again confronted by “agents of colonial powers” who, according to him, have exercised control over the country for the last 75 years.

Addressing a public gathering at Parade Ground in Chitral on Tuesday during the formal launch of the “Release Imran Khan” campaign, Niazi declared that the “freedom of the nation” is directly tied to the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. He warned that failing to seize this moment would condemn future generations to “a life of slavery.”

He alleged that Pakistan is currently being run under the principle of “might is right,” claiming that criminals and mafias have taken hold of state institutions and undermined the justice system. Niazi said when Imran Khan founded PTI three decades ago, his vision was to create a political movement rooted in justice and capable of challenging powerful groups that, he said, had long dominated national affairs. Without justice, he asserted, no country can move toward development or prosperity.

Niazi reiterated that Imran Khan is innocent and is imprisoned not because of any wrongdoing but due to the actions of what he described as domestic mafias acting alongside foreign conspiracies. He said he has little expectation of justice from the existing judicial system. He criticized the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment, accusing the government of distorting the Constitution and seeking lifetime immunity “out of fear of one individual.” He added that such actions contradict democratic principles and undermine the moral foundations of governance.

He maintained that the only viable path left for the people of Pakistan is to resist and struggle for freedom. Following his address, Niazi administered an oath to PTI workers present at the gathering who pledged to fully support the campaign until its conclusion.

Earlier, MPA Fateh-ul-Mulk Ali Nasir welcomed the launch of the movement from Chitral, stating that PTI workers in the district had always been at the forefront during moments of political significance. He added that the people of Chitral value loyalty and know how to reciprocate the affection shown by Imran Khan toward them.

Other speakers included Syed Fareed Jan, Abdul Razzaq, Malik Irfan, Shahid Ahmed Khan, Mohammad Sharif Khan and Qasim Khan. Provincial Minister for Relief Aqibullah Khan was also present on the occasion.
