PTI rally demands release of Imran Khan

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters staged a protest rally in Peshawar calling for the release of party’s founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

The protest rally held outside the Peshawar press club also protested against alleged theft of PTI’s mandate in the recent general elections.
PTI women wing  leaders, including  Adviser to Chief Minister Mashal Yousufazai  Bibi Jan Afridi,  Hina, Rehman Ayesha Naeem, Zahida Zahoor, Rabia Basri, Dr Riffat Sardar and Farah Tariq led the rally.
Representatives from various wings of PTI, including Insaf Lawyers  Wing, Insaf Youth Wing and Insaf Student Federation, also joined the rally. They demanded the release of Imran and Bushra Bibi besides calling for independence of the judiciary in the country.
Addressing the rally, Bibi Jan Afridi, Rabia Basri and Mashal Yousfzai reiterated the demand for Imran Khan’s release and warned the government to heed to the youth’s discontent. They stressed the importance of respecting the constitutional right to protest.
The protest concluded with assurances from PTI leaders of a continued campaign until the party’s founder is released and the alleged stolen mandate is returned.
