Sana Yousaf TikToker murder trial in Islamabad after summer break

Sana Yousaf murder trial stalled as defence continues delaying tactics

Islamabad, Nov 5, 2025: The defence team once again failed to cross-examine prosecution witnesses in the murder case of Sana Yousaf, prompting the court to once again adjourn the hearing until November 11 and issue warning against further delaying tactics.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Afzal Mujoka took up the hearing on Wednesday and expressed concern over the repeated delays caused by the defence. During the proceedings, counsel for the family of the social media influencer, Sardar Qadir, accused the defence of intentionally avoiding cross-examination to prolong the trial and obstruct justice.

Judge Mujoka reminded the defence that the court had already granted several opportunities for cross-examination, yet no progress had been made. He directed the defence counsel to complete the process at the next hearing and warned that the court would not allow any further delays.

The defence counsel assured the court that they would complete the cross-examination of witnesses on November 11, after which the court adjourned the case until that date with strict instructions to proceed without further interruption.

The murder of Islamabad-based Sana Yousaf from Chitral on June 2 this year has drawn widespread attention across social media and news platforms. Her relatives and fans have voiced frustration over the slow pace of the trial, pointing out that repeated adjournments and procedural delays continued to delay justice in the murder case.
