Booni, Nov 4, 2025: A ceremony was held here on Monday organized by the Sports Department in collaboration with Chitral Adventure School to recognize boys and girls who excelled in winter sports such as cycling, skating, skiing, mountaineering, and more.
Outstanding young athletes were awarded certificates and cash prizes for their achievements.
Deputy Commissioner Upper Chitral Muhammad Imran Khan was the chief guest. The event was also attended by the District Sports Officer, Planning Officer Finance & Planning, Asif Ali, the head of Chitral Adventure School, and young athletes representing Chitral nationally and internationally.
Asif Ali highlighted the school’s achievements, noting that Chitral’s youth have earned recognition both nationally and internationally, bringing pride to the district and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Deputy Commissioner Khan praised the Adventure School and Sports Department, announced cash prizes for all outstanding athletes, and assured continued support for winter sports. He lauded athletes representing Upper Chitral on national and international stages as a source of pride for their families and the district.
The ceremony concluded with distribution of certificates and cash awards, and acknowledgment of the District Sports Officer’s contributions. The event celebrated young talent and opened new opportunities for winter sports in Chitral.
