ISLAMABAD, Aug 13, 2014: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif honored Shakira Kalash from Chitral’s Kalash Valley with the Minority Community Excellence Award.
The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the development of the Kalash tribe of Chitral. The ceremony took place at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Shakira said the honor reflects not only her personal achievement but also the hard work of all minority communities in the country.
“Alhamdulillah, by the grace of God, I received this honor. I hope we continue to serve our country with unity, love, and dedication,” she added.
Shakira comes from the historic Kalash Valley, famous worldwide for its unique culture and traditions. Her award highlights the important role of minority communities in Pakistan’s society and culture.
