CHITRAL: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) has announced the schedule for this year’s Terichmir Base Camp Trek, offering adventure enthusiasts a guided seven-day expedition through the spectacular landscapes of the Hindu Kush.
According to KPCTA officials, three batches are planned for the summer season:
- Batch 1: July 13 – July 19
- Batch 2: July 25 – July 31
- Batch 3 (females only): August 8 – August 14.
Each batch is limited to 20 participants to ensure safety and a high-quality experience.
The trek will officially start from Chitral town with departure set for 8an sharp on the first day of each batch. Participants are required to arrive in Chitral the night before or early morning on the day of departure, as overnight accommodation in the town is not included in the package.
Highlights of the trek include
Off-road jeep travel through rugged mountain terrain and scenic valleys, glacier views and alpine campsites.
Professional guides will be ensuring safety along with local expertise.
Terichmir is the highest peak in the Hindu Kush at 7,708 meters located in Upper Chitral.
KPCTA officials said the initiative aims to promote responsible adventure tourism and highlight the natural beauty of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s northern districts.
“This is an opportunity to experience the stunning wilderness of Chitral and witness one of Pakistan’s most majestic peaks up close,” said a spokesperson for the authority.
“We want to make this adventure safe, well-organized, and truly memorable for all participants.”
