CHITRAL: In a remarkable academic achievement, Faiza Qadeer, daughter of Lutf Qadeer from Barenis Lasht in Lower Chitral, has been awarded the highly prestigious and fully funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Scholarship for PhD studies at the renowned Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza Campus, Italy.

Faiza completed her early education at Public School & College Jutial, Gilgit, followed by her intermediate studies at FG Degree College for Women, Peshawar Cantt. She earned both her BS in Agriculture and MS in Plant Pathology from the University of Agriculture, Peshawar, graduating with gold medals in both degrees.

Speaking about her success, Faiza credited her teachers\’ guidance, her parents’ prayers, and her own dedication. She urged young girls to pursue their goals persistently, saying, “There are thousands of paths for education and careers in the world. What matters is to choose one and stay committed to it.”

Coming from a traditional and religious background, Faiza emphasized that attaining higher education while respecting cultural boundaries is a basic right for everyone. Her achievement has been widely praised by academic and social circles, and she is being hailed as a beacon of inspiration for the daughters of Chitral.

Faiza comes from a family deeply rooted in education. Her sister Sabahat Ayesha is pursuing an MS in Water Resource Management after completing her BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Peshawar, while her other sister Zopash Qadeer has completed a BS in Statistics from the same university.

This family is fast becoming a symbol of academic excellence and empowerment, making the people of Chitral proud.
