PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has released a report outlining the scale of terrorist activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the current year.
According to the report, a total of 284 incidents of terrorism have been recorded across the province. The highest number of attacks occurred in North Waziristan with 53 incidents, followed by Bannu (35), Dera Ismail Khan (31), and Peshawar (13).
Law enforcement agencies have named 1,116 suspects in various terrorism-related cases.
The CTD, in collaboration with the police, conducted numerous operations in which 148 terrorists were killed. Among them, 67 were killed in D.I. Khan and 19 in Bannu, indicating intensified operations in those regions.
During the same period, the CTD arrested 95 wanted terrorists, including 70 in Kurram, six in Karak, three each in Swat and Bannu.
The report highlights ongoing threats in the southern and tribal belt of the province while showcasing the security agencies\’ continued efforts to curb terrorism.
