MASTUJ: The long-awaited repair and filling work on Chuinj-Kargin portion of the dilapidated Yarkhoon valley road has finally begun.
Following persistent public demand, the project was included in the C&W Department’s DDI program, with an allocation of two million rupees. Present at the inauguration of work were Chairman Village Council Parkusap Abdul Aziz Adab, Road Inspector Amjad Ali, local elders, and the contractor MS Brothers Construction Company.
Locals, transporters, and commuters expressed happiness and hope that the project will significantly improve travel facilities in the area.
However, local people said that repairing the road with soil and gravel was a temporary relief and the government should start work on the reconstruction of the Yarkhoon road without further delay.Â
