CHITRAL: During Chilim Jush (Joshi) Festival of Kalash community, special facilitation centers will be established by Lower Chitral police to provide all possible support to domestic and foreign tourists.
This decision was made during a meeting chaired by District Police Officer (DPO) Iftikhar Shah at the DPO Office in Balach.
DPO Shah emphasized that the police hold the religious traditions of the Kalash community in high regard, and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the peaceful conduct of the festival. He directed that additional traffic wardens and tourism police personnel be deployed at key locations to maintain traffic flow and assist tourists.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Mohsin Iqbal had chaired a meeting to review preparations for the upcoming festival. The participants discussed security arrangements, traffic and parking plans, road conditions, and facilities for tourists. They decided to set up price monitoring desks in the Kalash valleys during the festival to prevent overpricing.
The meeting also agreed to establish tourist facilitation centers and ensure proper arrangements in hotels, with special attention to facilities for female tourists.
