BOONI: Commissioner Malakand Division Saqib Raza Aslam on Friday directed the food department to ensure speedy supply of wheat to remote areas of Upper Chitral.
Mr Aslam is currently visiting Chitral to inspect ongoing work to remove snow from roads.
According to the district administration of Upper Chitral, the commissioner visited the grain godown in Junalkoch and inspected the wheat stock. Wheat is supplied to all sale points from Junalkoch.
He directed the district food controller to ensure supply of wheat to remote areas of the district.
It may be noted that the sale points gave been short of wheat, promoting the department to limit the sale. Due to closure of roads in the recent snowfall, these areas are facing shortage of essential commodities.
