MASTUJ: Rescue 1122 personnel recovered the body of a young woman from the Yarkhun River near Povur village in Upper Chitral, officials said.
According to Rescue 1122’s media coordinator, the rescue team retrieved the body from the river and shifted it to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Booni for a postmortem examination.
After completion of the medico-legal formalities, the body will be transported to the woman’s native village and handed over to her family.
Preliminary information suggests that the woman belonged to Yarkhun and was reportedly suffering from a mental health condition. Further details regarding the circumstances that led to her falling into the river were not immediately available.
Rescue 1122 officials said the body was recovered following the incident and handed over for the required legal and medical procedures.
