Chitral, June 17, 2026: The mass wedding of 15 couples was arranged by Al Khidmat Foundation Lower Chitral at the polo ground here on Wednesday.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of community members, social workers, donors and local residents.
Addressing the event, Foundation’s North chapter head Inayatullah Khan said rising inflation had made it increasingly difficult for underprivileged families to arrange marriages for their daughters.
He described the initiative as a significant act of charity and social responsibility, noting that providing household items and financial assistance to the couples would ease their burden.
He added that public service remains a core mission of both Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation, emphasizing their commitment to supporting deserving families across the region.
Among others, JI leaders Maghfirat Shah and Wajihuddin, Alkhidmat Foundation Lower Chitral president Abdul Haq, and donor Haji Hikmanuddin also attended the ceremony.
They appreciated the continued support of the people of Chitral for welfare initiatives and humanitarian efforts.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for the 15 couples, with participants praying for their happiness, prosperity and a blessed married life.
Speakers also reaffirmed the importance of such initiatives in addressing poverty and supporting vulnerable segments of society in .
