CHITRAL: Iqbal Hussain Khan, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, has lauded the breathtaking natural beauty of Chitral and highlighted its vast potential for trade and tourism.

Speaking to media representatives and business leaders at a local hotel on Monday, he expressed his commitment to promoting these opportunities among Bangladeshi investors and tourists.

The High Commissioner said that he was deeply impressed by the culture and scenic landscapes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during a national exhibition, which inspired him to visit several tourist destinations, including Lower and Upper Chitral.

He noted that many locally produced goods from Chitral have strong potential to attract Bangladeshi investors. He also noted that the restoration of direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka reflects the growing ties between the two countries.

Mr Khan added that Chitral is rich in untapped trade and tourism opportunities and reaffirmed his resolve to facilitate greater collaboration in these sectors.

Strengthening people-to-people connections between the two friendly nations remains a top priority, and showcasing Chitral’s unique landscapes to the world would be a significant step in that direction, the diplomat added.

The visit was also attended by Counselor (Press) Tayyab Ali and other diplomats. On the occasion, the High Commissioner presented souvenirs to the President of Chitral Press Club Zahiduddin and Secretary General of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Trade, Sultan Baig.
