Prince Rahim Aga Khan Meets Followers in Upper Chitral

Ismailis gather at Didargah on May 23, 24, in large numbers, Imam stresses unity and education.

Parwak, May 24, 2026: His Highness Prince Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V visited Upper Chitral for the second consecutive day on Sunday where he met his followers at the Didargah in Parwak Lasht.

According to Ismaili Council officials, about 50,000 Ismailis gathered for the Didar of their Imam on Saturday, May 24.

His followers from the Ismaili Councils of Mastuj, Laspur and Mulkhow gathered at the Didargah on May 23, and those from Booni, Torkhow, Brep and Yarkhun and surrounding areas gathered for the Didar on May 24.

Upper Chitral district administration and the Ismaili Regional Council representatives received the Imam at the helipad after his arrival from Gilgit-Baltistan.

This marked the Aga Khan’s first official visit to Pakistan since assuming the position of the 50th Imam of the Ismaili community last year.

During the Didar, the Imam emphasized adherence to the core principles of Islam, its fundamental practices and the belief in the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad peace be upon him.

His Highness gave special guidance to the youth, saying that the world is passing through challenging times and young people must come forward with confidence and responsibility.

He advised the youth to think globally, understand the changing world, and prepare themselves for the future.

the Aga Khan is expected to wrap up his visit to Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan with Didar to his followers in Lower Chitral at Garam Chashma on May 25 afternoon.
