Mulkhow, May 15, 2026: The Agriculture Department Upper Chitral distributed free fruit fly traps among farmers in the Moorkhow under its Agriculture Practices Project.

The initiative aims to protect orchards and improve fruit production in the region.

The initiative focused on supporting local farmers by introducing modern pest control methods and reducing crop losses caused by fruit fly infestation.

On the occasion, an awareness and training session was also conducted for farmers, where experts briefed participants on the importance, benefits, and proper use of fruit fly traps.

Farmers were guided on how these traps help in minimizing pest attacks and improving the overall quality and yield of fruit orchards.

The session also included detailed guidance on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques. Farmers were encouraged to adopt environmentally friendly farming practices, reduce excessive pesticide use, and improve long-term orchard productivity through scientific methods.

Farmers appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that continued technical support from the Agriculture Department would further enhance agricultural output and strengthen livelihoods in Upper Chitral.
