Residents Frustrated as Key Chitral Roads Remain Unfinished
According to local elders, the two-kilometre road project was inaugurated nearly a year ago by MPA Mehtar Fateh-ul-Mulk Ali Nasir, but no significant progress has been made since then. They said that even basic gravel work has not been carried out, leaving the project effectively stalled.
Community representatives stated that delegations have met the executive engineer of the Communication and Works (C&W) Department as well as the MPA to address the issue. However, despite the reported release of approximately Rs11 million, the contractor has failed to make meaningful progress.

Only limited retaining structures have been built at a few points while the rest of the project remains incomplete.

Residents have urged the MPA, the district administration and relevant authorities to immediately ensure resumption of work, release pending funds and resolve the hardships faced by the local population.
They warned that if construction does not begin within 10 days, the community will exercise its constitutional right to protest by blocking the bypass road, holding the concerned authorities responsible for any consequences.
