Pakistan Launches EO-3 Satellite With Chinese Support

Islamabad, April 25, 2026: The Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced the successful launch of Pakistan’s indigenous Electro-Optical Satellite (EO-3) from China’s Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

The satellite is expected to significantly enhance imaging capabilities and support a wide range of applications, including urban planning, disaster management, food security and environmental monitoring. It will function as an integrated Earth observation system to assist national development priorities and promote sustainable socio-economic growth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the engineers and scientists of SUPARCO for their professionalism and dedication, while also acknowledging China’s continued support as Pakistan’s strategic partner in space cooperation.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also commended the achievement, describing it as a reflection of Pakistan’s growing scientific capabilities and reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the country’s presence in the space sector.
