Chitral, Feb 4, 2026: The Ismaili community in Lower Chitral celebrated Imamat Day — marking the accession of the Imam of the Time, Prince Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan — with traditional enthusiasm and a strong spirit of public service.
On February 4, volunteers from the Ismaili community carried out repair work on broken and dilapidated Singoor-Balach Road, providing much-needed relief to commuters and local residents.
The road had remained in poor condition for a long time, posing serious risks to pedestrians and motorists alike.
A large number of youth and elders actively participated in the welfare activity, which was undertaken on a self-help basis without waiting for government assistance.
Volunteers filled potholes and leveled the road, aiming not only to improve infrastructure but also to promote the culture of community service and social responsibility.
Speaking to the media, the volunteers said that the teachings of Prince Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan emphasize service to humanity, peace, and collective well-being. “The best way to celebrate Imamat Day is by helping the people around us. Service to humanity is the foundation of a peaceful and stable society,” they remarked.
Residents of the area and members of civil society widely appreciated the initiative, terming it a commendable example of civic responsibility. Citizens noted that the Ismaili community’s proactive approach, carried out without publicity or government funding, sets a positive precedent for other social organizations and future generations.
