Chitral, Jan 25, 2026: Following heavy snowfall in Chitral city and its surrounding areas, the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) carried out an emergency snow clearance operation in the city.
Snow removal work is still underway in some areas and is progressing at a rapid pace, said a TMA Lower Chitral official.
The operation is being conducted under the special supervision of Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Haider Ayub. Through the tireless day-and-night efforts of TMA staff, normal life in the city has largely been restored, he added.
Using heavy machinery and manpower, TMA teams cleared snow from major roads and key locations including the main highways, DC Road, Kachehri Road, Governor House Road, Sabzi Mandi, Denin Colony, Jughore, Mughalandeh, Bakamak, Main Bazaar and Bypass Bazaar.
The administration also cleared snow from footpaths, providing significant relief to pedestrians. Moreover, due to the prior cleaning of drainage channels, water did not accumulate on the roads, making movement safer and easier, especially for children and elderly citizens.
Residents of Chitral appreciated the prompt response and dedicated services of TMO and his team.
