Shahzada Khalid Pervez returns to PPP

Chitral, Sept 21, 2025: Shahzada Khalid Pervez, son of the late state minister Shahzada Mohiuddin, has announced his return to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) after leaving the PTI Parliamentarians, marking his fourth political shift in recent years.

Khalid Pervez had parted ways with the PPP ahead of the last general election to join the PTI Parliamentarians, from whose platform he contested the provincial assembly elections. Although he secured over 12,000 votes, he was unable to win the seat.

On Sunday, during a ceremony held in connection with the inauguration of the new PPP district office in Chitral, he formally rejoined the party.

Addressing workers on the occasion, he publicly sought forgiveness for quitting the party earlier, cited his past compulsions, and declared that he was now rejoining the PPP unconditionally. He added that he would work solely as a party worker to strengthen and activate the PPP at the grassroots level in Chitral.

Party workers warmly welcomed his decision, appreciating his commitment to return, and assured him of their full support. The ceremony was presided over by the acting district president, Sharif Hussain.

It was further highlighted that all expenses for the establishment of the new district office were borne by PPP Senator Talha Mahmood, whose contribution was acknowledged and praised by the party workers for enabling the local organization to have a functional base in Chitral.
