BOONI: As the Yarkhun River has started flooding, district administration officials visited Mastuj, Chuinj, Chapali and other areas to inspect river erosion and threat to residential areas.
The district administration officers instructed people living along the river in Chapali to move to safer locations so that no untoward incident may occur, according to a statement by the DC Upper Chitral office.
The officers of district administration met with elected representatives and elders of the villages and informed them to promptly notify the district administration in case of any emergency situation.
They assured the people that the district administration would cooperate with them regarding relocation to safe places.
The district administration officers also instructed local patwaris to remain present at their stations and ensure timely reporting of any emergency situation so that relief activities can be carried out.
