Contribution of Chitrali nurses in healthcare system hailed

PESHAWAR: The Chitral Nurses Forum organized its second annual convention in Peshawar on Saturday.

The convention recognized the contributions of nurses from Chitral and underscored their vital role in the healthcare system.

Speakers highlighted a range of persistent challenges faced by nurses, including limited resources, lack of transparency in transfer policies, inadequate training opportunities, stalled career progression, and the absence of basic workplace facilities.

Officials from the health department and related institutions, who attended the event, acknowledged the issues and assured participants of efforts to resolve them. They emphasized the need to support healthcare workers from remote areas like Chitral to improve overall service delivery.

During the program, nurses were presented with certificates and tokens of appreciation in recognition of their dedication. Nursing students described senior nurses as role models and expressed their commitment to uphold the same standard of service.

Chitral Nurses Forum President Jaffar Yad Hussain, Chairperson Fareeda Faraz, and Executive Council Member Musarrat Ijaz highlighted professional concerns and stressed building greater recognition for nurses’ work.

Social activist Pir Mukhtar Nabi and Syed Ibrahim Shah acknowledged the issues raised by nurses, and expressed their support for concrete steps to resolve them through relevant channels.
