Enrollment drive in KP

School enrollment campaign extended by two weeks

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has extended its ongoing school enrollment drive by two weeks after enrolling over 650,000 children so far, still short of its one million target. Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai announced the extension to intensify efforts and ensure every child gets access to education.

The Education Department briefed the minister during an online meeting attended by all district education officers (DEOs). The officials reported enrollment figures, but several districts showed below-average performance. Minister Tarakai ordered strict accountability for underperforming DEOs and instructed all teams to speed up their efforts.

He praised the outstanding performance of the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation and the Merged Areas Education Foundation. The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enrolling every out-of-school child and pledged to mobilize all available resources to meet the campaign’s goal.
