Chitral, Feb 12, 2026: A fire broke out late last night at Agha Jan Hotel located in the market near Shahi Mosque in Chitral Town.
Rescue 1122 received information about the incident and immediately dispatched fire fighters along with fire vehicles to the scene.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the firefighting operation continued for about one and a half hours, after which the blaze was brought under control. The timely response of the Rescue 1122 team prevented the fire from spreading to other nearby shops in the market, averting potential losses worth millions of rupees, said the emergency service in a statement today.
A total of six firefighters and three fire vehicles participated in the operation. Officials said approximately 30,000 liters of water were used to extinguish the fire. Personnel from the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) also assisted in the operation. The exact cause of the fire could not be determined.
