Crackdown on overloaded transport vehicles intensified 

BOONI: The traffic police Upper Chitral have intensified their crackdown on overloaded passenger vehicles throughout the district.

Officers have been stationed at key locations on the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Hamidullah to identify violators and issue on-the-spot fines, said a statement issued by the police.

They are actively penalizing drivers who overload their vehicles, aiming to protect passengers’ lives and maintain traffic discipline. These efforts directly target the prevention of road accidents and ensure safer travel for all.

Police have urged the public to play their part by reporting any incidents of overloading to local authorities. Their prompt reporting can lead to immediate action.

The DPO has warned repeat offenders that they will not only face heavy fines but also legal prosecution under the relevant laws.
