BOONI: In the remote area of Lonkuh Dok in Terich valley of Mulkhow, a mini-hydropower plant has been completed through the efforts of the local community and financial assistance from the Talha Mehmood Foundation.
The formal inauguration of the project was held recently. The power plant aims to provide electricity to more than 200 households in the area. While the local residents took the initiative to construct the facility themselves, the foundation contributed financially to help cover the cost of laying electric lines, installing poles, and procuring necessary equipment.
A team from the foundation attended the inaugural ceremony and was welcomed by local leaders and residents. On this occasion, Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood assured the community that the foundation would continue to support development initiatives in the underserved areas of Chitral. The locals praised the foundation’s role and called it a significant milestone in the region’s progress.
