CHITRAL: Proper marketing of valuable local products like pine nuts can create new opportunities for economic growth in Chitral.
This was stated by Pir Musavir Khan, Special Assistant to the KP Chief Minister on Forests, Wildlife, Environment and Climate Change.
He expressed these views during his visit to the under-construction pine nut (chilgoza) processing unit in Ayun, says a press release.
Officials briefed him on the construction progress of the processing unit. They were instructed to complete the work on priority basis.
He said the installation of modern machinery will improve the cleaning and processing of pine nuts and help create job opportunities for local people.
He added that the provincial government remains committed to developing and ensuring the prosperity of Chitral.
Later, Khan visited Bumburate and met the Kalash community, and listened to their issues. He assured them that the government would prioritize and address their demands.
